New Bridges for Haitian Success’ mission is to empower and serve the Haitian and Afro-Caribbean communities by providing culturally attuned direct programs, legal services, basic needs, and partnerships.

Senate Committee on Judiciary: 2-11-2025
Rhode Island’s Senate Judiciary Committee will review bills on February 7, 2025, covering crime gun testing (SB 59), digital right to repair (SB 60), felony definitions (SB 63), handgun permit appeals (SB 65), unfair real estate agreements (SB 133), juvenile drug penalties (SB 134), emergency declaration limits (SB 149), and protections for minor vloggers (SB 153).

what we do
NB4HS provides employment, education, immigration, health, advocacy, and human services. Programmatically, these activities include:

Employment skills training

Computer training leading to Microsoft Office Certifications

Job placement services/care counseling

English for Speakers of Other Languages (Basic 1 & 2 and Intermediate 1 Levels)

Counseling and advice concerning immigration concerns: completing applications, setting appointments, and employment eligibility processes.

Assistance in accessing health care, application assistance, and referrals to Medicaid support specialists. Hosting workshops on various topics germane to the Haitian community.

Human services include basic needs, housing, case management, and crisis intervention.

Founded in 2013, New Bridges for Haitian Success, Inc. (NB4HS), a registered 501(c)(3) organization, has a mission to help Haitian immigrants assimilate to life in Rhode Island through community-level services that support well-being and positive decision making to promote a connected Haitian community with access to increased opportunities and economic empowerment.

Hello, my name is Valencia Felix. I want to say thank you to NB4HS for helping me when I moved from Haiti to the United States. It is not easy for immigrants to adjust and find help to follow their dreams. At NB4HS, they helped me by teaching me computer and English classes. These classes helped me improve my English and reach my goals. Now, I am taking a CAN course so I can support myself. They also helped me pay my heating bill during the winter. Thank you, NB4HS!
